CeraVe Puts Skin Barrier Health First with Super Boost Serum

Developed with dermatologists, its patent-pending ceramide booster technology helps replenish ceramides lost with age.

CeraVe is taking skin barrier-first approach to aging with its new Skin Renewing Super Boost Serum.

Developed with dermatologists, its patent-pending ceramide booster technology helps replenish essential ceramides lost with age. Ceramides naturally occur in the skin and are essential for maintaining a strong, healthy skin barrier. As ceramide levels decline with age, the skin barrier weakens, reducing moisture retention and contributing to visible signs of aging.

Ceramide Booster Technology

To address this challenge, CeraVe developed the Ceramide Booster Technology, engineered with pre-ceramides designed to strengthen the skin barrier and amplify anti-aging results. By restoring what the skin naturally loses over time, the technology helps create an optimal environment for anti-aging ingredients to work more effectively, per the brand.

“We’re seeing that consumers want gentle multi-tasking products that deliver powerful results, but without compromising efficacy to simplify their skincare routine,” said Esther Garcia, US brand general manager, CeraVe. “Our new Skin Renewing Super Boost Serum, formulated with our patent-pending Ceramide Booster Technology, helps fight five signs of aging and strengthen the barrier so anti-aging ingredients can perform to their full potential, and reflects CeraVe’s commitment to delivering accessible, science-backed innovations that put skin health first.”

To help strengthen the skin barrier while supporting improvements in multiple visible signs of aging, the formula combines three essential ceramides and ceramide booster technology with five anti-aging ingredients. Hyaluronic acid helps attract and retain moisture; peptides help support firmer-looking, smoother skin; niacinamide helps calm the skin and supports barrier function; vitamin B12 helps to provide instant radiance; and Lipohydroxy acid (LHA) gently exfoliates uneven, rough texture.

Meeting Evolving Consumer Needs

According to consumer research, 72% of consumers say they want products that deliver multiple benefits in a single formula. Among Gen X consumers and late millennials, top skincare concerns include uneven skin tone, fine lines, firmness, texture and hydration – concerns commonly associated with skin aging – though many often experience irritation associated with traditional anti-aging ingredients.
Together with dermatologists, CeraVe developed this formula to address some of these needs as consumers increasingly seek skincare products that simplify their routines without sacrificing results.

Clinical Results

In a consumer study, 90% agreed that skin looks: radiant, smooth, plump, supple and more hydrated after continued use and after four weeks, 82% saw less visible wrinkles.

Renewing Super Boost Serum is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive, thanks to the fast-absorbing, non-greasy formula that is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic.

CeraVe Skin Renewing Super Boost Serum is available at retailers and online platforms for $29.99.
